Getting the jet-boat tickets
Koto, Kickty and I set off for Oshima before the rest of the group. We wanted to take a plane there (small aircrafts leave there from Chofu Airfield, right next to my university), but we couldn't get seats, so we decided to go via jet-boat.

Pipe dream
I love these pipey sights. This is leaving Tokyo Bay.

The Wind Tower
Far in the background, looking like an enormous ship with sails, stands 風の塔, "The Wind Tower", a huge air vent for the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, a tunnel that crosses Tokyo Bay. The towers works as the air supply for the tunnel.

Our boat: my very first hydrofoil
I did't think these boats existed! I remember when I first saw one of these in Johnny Quest I thought "yeah right... who do they take me for", but let me tell you people: the future is upon us! And it has been upon us for about a century.

Breakwaters at Oshima
They are all over the palce! And I lurve them. They are so geometric! They look like the toys of a baby giant with ADD.

The hydrofoil on our ... hydrofoil?
That bit underwater is the bit that allows the boat to do in 2 hours what a normal boat does in 6. Oh yeah.

Kickty putting together his awesome bike
On the opposite side of the lens, my eyes show nothing but healthy envy. Mark my words, world: I shall have a bike like that one day!

More breakwaters!
Everybody sing along! Yay!
